Black and White Floor
I love the terrazzo floor on this balcony that was featured in the NY Times Home & Garden Section today.
There is something so effortlessly elegant about this type of floor. You can usually rent something similar for a dance floor at a wedding or event and I think it makes such a difference. Hoping my dream home will have some of these floors one day!

French Country Baby Shower
Here are some pictures a baby shower we designed for a client on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The hostess wanted something that was not too precious, but still fun and sophisticated.
We set the table with a white table runner and filled different cut glass vessels and antique tea tins with seasonal flowers and greens. Lorina Limonade bottles not only added to the design but were perfect for all the pregnant ladies not drinking wine. Finally for a burst of color we hung yellow pompoms above the table.
On the menu was french onion soup (in beautiful footed mini soup tureens), quiche, green salad, and fresh bread. The dessert course had tiered trays of petite fours and cupcakes.

Perfect Wedding Shoes!
I don't know about you, but I had put a lot of time into my search for wedding shoes. These new Carmen Satin Peep-toes from J.Crew are not only "reasonably" priced but they also come in really fun colors! I love the blush for just a hint of pink and the mint julep for a touch of something blue.

Labor Day Weekend Wedding
Here are some pictures from a Labor Day Weekend wedding we planned in Indianapolis. We are so excited to share these with you! The color palette came from the different blue and green shades of hydrangeas. The bride wanted a garden party feel and the groom just wanted to have fun!

Indian Summer
It feels like Indian Summer today in New York. We are a full nine days into October and while earlier in the week the weather has been a bit blustery and chilly (prompting us all to whip out our new fall clothes! I swear I saw someone with gloves on the other day... I mean, come on!), today is warm and downright balmy. As I start thinking about holiday invitations and winter coats, I feel a bit bittersweet that summer is over.
Don't you just love this color palette though? The pink and deep yellow are cheerful but earthy. It all seems so warm and inviting.
How gorgeous would a rustic dinner party in late summer look with plates and plates of heaping heirloom tomatoes in the center? The colors and shapes are gorgeous and potentially much more affordable than flowers. I would have beautiful bottles of olive oil on the table as well. Gorgeous and delicious!
Love This Dress!!
On part 1 of Project Runway's Season Finale last night, the contestants had to show their bridal creations. I'm in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with Leanne's gown and I know I'm not alone! It was just so stunning. Obviously the tiers and the architectural waves of the skirt are the big wow factors, but I even adore how delicate the bust is. I would seriously wear that if I were getting married again. I really love it. Now the Carolina Herrera dress on the right is not really the same dress at all, but the silhouette and the bust line are similar. I actually tried on the CH gown when I was looking for my wedding dress. I did end up going with a CH dress but not this one, as this one was just a tad too fashion forward for my wedding. However, should Henry Higgins invite me to Ascot anytime soon, I will march back to CH and buy that dress and a fabulous hat and be off!
